I would say 1'x1' acoustical ceiling tile from 1967 has a very slight chance of the ceiling tile itself containing asbestos. The application you are referring to used staples instead of mastic "pucs" to hold the tiles up, we sometimes find asbestos in the mastic pucs but very rarely in the tiles. Never the less you need to have it analyzed at a NVLAP certified lab in your area to make sure.

You may contact me at the following site if you have any additional questions:
i really don't think the tiles are asbestos,, these tiles are common, but asbestos was used for insulation and fire prevention and i have work construction for over 40 years and what you describe is your basic stapled ceiling tile...you still should get it checked by a professional take one to a hazardous waste place and they should be able to tell you free.

Im a home, it is not likely to be asbestos, but the ONLY way to know is to take a piece of the material (cross section with both sides showing) to a local lab and have it tested. Most 12x12s were paper/fiberglass/gypsum based. If they are asbestos, you may think about removing them (a professional contractor) because even undisturbed there is a very small amount being released, but the biggest reason is that balls, arrows, and trucks are going to be bounced off that ceiling. Kids will be kids.

Probably highly likely and NOT a worry unless it is deteriorating an crumbly. If its intact its fine. If you choose to remove it wear a mask and gloves. The harmful part is when it turns to dust and is airborne.

Go to: http://www.oesc.state.ok.us/ . On the right side, click on oil field jobs$$$. Everything you need will be right there. 1-800 numbers to call, search the jobs, etc. Good luck, friends say the starting salary is $18 + an hour. Hard work, but rewarding.

Well rigs are hard. Don't think they would need asbestos opps but you would need helicopter safety sea survival and fire fighting for a start. they wont even look at you if you don't. Check out bp and shell.
